Description
Partially ruinous late medieval church, set in graveyard close by sea shore; also 2 late medieval carved stone slabs of West Highland type; the most northerly known examples.
CHURCH: is roofless, though substantially entire; a long rectangular-plan structure, perhaps of 14th century date, extended to west late 15th/early 16th century; other alterations/reconstruction work visible throughout, eg heightening of parts of north flank wall. GRAVEYARD: party enclosed by concrete walls; burial aisles and headstones.
MEDIEVAL SLABS: one, a warrior effigy; the other, inscribed, to Margaret daughter of Roderick MacLeod of Lews, widow of Lachlan MacKinnon; she died in 1503.
