Full Description
NF76SE 12 7928 6222.
(NF 7928 6222) An island dun is situated a little to the SE of the larger island (NF76SE 11) at the N end of Loch Mor, Baleshare. It is about 35 by 56 ft, with surrounding wall and with traces of a building ('mound' - RCAHMS {1928} ) near its centre. The causeway runs southward from the shore of the loch.
E Beveridge 1911; RCAHMS 1928.
There are vague traces of walling around this island and an amorphous scatter of boulders in the centre but nothing of the original dun can be identified. Nesting swans hampered field investigation of this site. Visited by OS (J T T) 31 May 1965
