Full Description

NF76SE 5 7812 6339.

Dunan Mor stood upon the outer extremity of Rosamul in Illeray, at the N end of Baleshare Island. There are no structural or surface remains left other than the conspicuous mound.

Visible on RAF air photograph 540/509 Pt II 3141-2: flown 23 May 1951.

There is a conspicuous mound centred at NF 7812 6339, shown as a 'Cairn (TI)' on the OS 6". There is nothing on the ground to suggest that this was the site of a dun.
Visited by OS (J T T) 30 May 1965.

There is a long-disused cattle fold at Dunan mor.
