Full Description

NF77NE 13 7625 7619.

(NF 765 762) 'Cnoc Ailt, a hillock near the ferry to Griminish, has evidently been occupied, showing kitchen-midden remains of ashes and pottery.' A bone skinning-knife found here is now in the NMAS.

The hillock at NF 7625 7619, surmounted by the George Beveridge memorial, is known locally as Cnoc Ailt: it bears no trace of antiquity. Visited by OS (J T T) 22 June 1965.
