Full Description

NF77NE 25 centred 789 768.

(Area : NF 789 768) A remarkable group of cup-marked rocks was found by George Beveridge of Vallay, in 1925, at Ceann Uadhdarach, not far from Bachda Mora. Beveridge noted fully 40 cups on an outcrop of rock but Lyford-Pike, in 1931, found about 70 additional undoubted cups and 40 probable examples on this rock and on five other outcrops in the vicinity.
J D Lyford-Pike 1941.

The cupmarked rocks were not located despite intensive perambulation. The area consists mainly of sand dunes, which may have covered the rocks.
Visited by OS (W D J) 22 June 1965.
