Full Description

NF77SE 15 7636 7052.

Two green mounds halfway up the slope of Toroghas are about 20 yards apart and each from 35 to 40ft across. Although overlaid by modern shielings both sites contain large stones and have the appearance of having been occupied by 'massive circular erections' of much earlier origin. Fragments of coarse pottery and wood-charcoal have been found.
E Beveridge 1911.

Two stony green mounds, probably natural, about 36.0m apart, were located at NF 7636 7052. They appear to be those described by Beveridge. Although there is a scatter of stones on each mound they appear to be typical shieling mounds, with the amorphous remains of possibly two or more shielings on top of each.
Visited by OS (W D J) 25 June 1965.
