Full Description

NF77SE 7 centred
77 76.

'There are two broad stones about 8ft high on the hill 2 miles to the south of Valay'.
M Martin 1934.

No further information was found regarding these stones but they are probably the two standing stones at Toroghas (NF77SE 12) which,
although at present only 0.8m high and 1.4m high respectively, may
have been c. 8ft high c. 1695 as they have sunk considerably into the peaty soil.
Visited by OS (W D J) 17 June 1965.

Almost certainly the Toroghas standing stones referred to above (SMR no. 915). MML 20.9.99
