OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1904)
Dun Grogary is a slight mound in the marsh at the west edge of Loch Grogary. Once an island, a causeway connects it with the original shore on the west. Although much robbed, traces of both inner (48ft diameter) and outer fortifications are apparent.
Potsherds have been found.
E Beveridge 1911.
Dun Grogary is a grass-covered mound, c. 18.0m diameter and 1.5m high, with hardly any recognisable features other than the vague course of what may be the face of the inner wall, c. 8.0m in diameter, in the top of the mound. Only a few scattered stones remain of the causeway. Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (J T T) 24 June 1965.
