(NF 7184 7146) Dun (NR) (Site of)
OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1904)

An island dun once stood at Tighary, near the centre of Loch Cnoc nan Uan. The loch is now a marsh, and the walls of the dun have been so completely removed as to leave hardly any trace of its original outline, although remains are visible of a curved causeway from the former west shore of the loch. The only find has been a large perforated stone, possibly used as an anchor.
E Beveridge 1911.

The site of this dun is a slight dry mound, c. 20.0m diameter, in the surrounding marsh: there are no structural remains. A straight portion of the causeway, c. 18.0 m. long, can also be seen.
Visited by OS (J T T) 16 June 1965.
