NF85NE 12 centred on 8847 5652

There is an extensive area of depopulation, centred on NF 8847 5652, containing the remains of at least 22 buildings, varying in size from 5.0m x 3.0m to 15.0m x 5.5m with a maximum height of 1.4m, together with at least 5 associated enclosures. No name was found for the area: the date of desertion is thought to be post-1845.

One roofed and five unroofed buildings are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, North & South Uist etc. 1880, sheet xlv). Thirteen unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
