Full Description

NF85NE 15 8936 5872.

There is a flat-topped mound about 12ft high, known locally as An Dunan, with some appearance of a wall in the west face, on a small promontory 150 yds NW of the western of the two islets near Rudh an Duin (NF85NE 14), above the shore at Eaval.
E Beveridge 1911.

This feature, a possible promontory fort, is generally as described above. The grass-covered wall, crossing the neck of the promontory for a distance of some 7.0m, measures 0.4m maximum height externally and approximately 1.1m wide, but only vague traces of the inner wall- face are evident. It is sited at NF 8936 5872.
The NW, SW and SE sides of the promontory are steep but accessible.
Some 20.0m NE of the wall there are the grass-covered footings of 3 buildings, 1 boat-shaped and 2 oval, which may be associated with the site.
Visited by OS (N K B) 3 June 1965.
