Full Description
NF85NE 3 8650 5939.
(Area: NF 865 594) There is an island fort, 25ft by 30ft, of which three or four courses of small stones remain along its southern edge, in Loch nan Gealag, North Uist. A causeway, 30 yards long, connects it to the east shore. There is a possible boat harbour at the north-east.
E Beveridge 1911.
NF 8650 5939. As described above. Tumbled stone, 1.5m high, and scrub obscure the remains of the wall. The causeway is now submerged for a quarter of its length: the boat harbour is a natural inlet.
Visited by OS (N K B) 3 June 1965.
