Full Description

NF85NE 6 8653 5720.

(NF 8653 5720) The outer of two small islands at the west end of Loch Hornary, Grimsay, is possibly surrounded by a wall, and the beginnings of a causeway to it from the north shore can be seen near the edge of the loch.
Near its west end, and at a higher elevation, four stones were found set in line and resting upon the natural rock.
E Beveridge 1911.

Traces of the wall can be seen on the west side of the island, at the water's edge, but the island is covered by dense undergrowth, obscuring any further traces. However, the whole is suggestive of a dun, and the commencement of a submerged causeway is visible on the NE side of the island leading to another island at NF 8653 5722, some 10.0m to the north.
Visited by OS (N K B) 30 May 1965.
