A dilapidated stone circle lies on the flat summit of a broad ridge, some 500 yards SE of the school at Gramisdale, 50ft above sea level. In 1915 the remains (one complete stone on the south, a stump of another on the SW, six overthrown stones, and probably two others) formed rather more than the western half of the circle, indicating a diameter of about 85ft. A pillar stone and slab lie prostrate within the circle on the east (RCAHMS 1928). Listed as an uncertain example of a chambered cairn. Apart from the standing stone, which measures 1.0m by 1.5 m by 0.2m wide, there are nine stumps or overthrown stones forming the western arc of a stone circle. Within this is a slight grass-covered mound about 12.0m in diameter around two large flat stones, each 1.7m long, set on edge, probably the remains of a chambered cairn.
