OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1881)
A small, rocky island, in the southern part of Loch Olavat is crowned by the ruins of Dun Mhic Uisdein. These form a heap of stones 3 to 5ft high, but only a single course of drystone masonry is traceable on the outer face of the eastern, southern and western arcs. As the west side is nearly straight the plan is somewhat D-shaped, measuring 52ft north to south and 45ft east to west. (Misprinted as Dun Mhic Risdein on OS 6"map, {1904}: RCAHMS say that it is known locally as Dun Mhic Uisdein) RCAHMS 1928.
Known locally as Dun Mhic Uisdein, this feature is as described above. Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (R D) 18 May 1965.
