Full Description
NF86SW 26 8157 6048.
(Area: NF 816 605) Two grass-covered cairns, one of them large, are to be found on the tidal island of Garbh Eilean Beag, immediately north of the Carinish chapels (NF86SW 24).
E Beveridge 1911.
NF 8157 6048. Two turf-covered stony mounds, almost contiguous, at the south end of Garbh Eilean Beag.
The larger mesurs 5.5m in diameter with a maximum height of 0.9m: the smaller measures 2.6m in diameter and is 0.4m high.
It is possible that the larger may be a cairn and that the smaller is made from spoil from the larger mound, although both are located in an area of extensive cultivation and may be field-clearance.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (W D J) 1 July 1965.
