Full Description

NF86SW 38 8392 6394 and 8395 6398.

(Area : NF 839 639) A flat islet at the SE extremity of Orasay, to which it is united at low water, is marked as 'Ft Orasay' on the Admiralty Chart, '... perhaps suggestive of an occupation in the 17th century ... especially since traces of old buildings exist both upon this and a smaller rock joined on to its south - rectangular in the first case, but apparently circular in the second - the latter being covered by spring tides and locally known as Sgeir nan Sgarbh.'
E Beveridge 1911.

Only small shielings were seen on these two islands, located at NF 8392 6394 and NF 8395 6398 respectively.
Visited by OS (W D J) 11 June 1965.
