15 April 1975. A small obstruction, possibly the remains of a wreck, is shown at 58 11 28.4N, 006 23 06.2W on an aerial photgraph.

3 March 1976. The area was not fully surveyed.
Report by HMS HERALD dated 1 December 1975.

12 October 1976. The wreck was located in the above position. It consists of iron ribs with a small amount of timber attached suggesting a composite construction. The wreckage is 20 metres long and dries completely at low water neaps.
