13 October 1923. The dangerous wreck of the steamship ARNISH was reported at 58 11 22N, 006 22 47W, or 257 degrees, 630 metres from Arnish Point Light.

23 May 1932. A wreck was reported, least depth 6.1 metres, bearing 257 degrees 615 metres from Arnish Point Light.

2 March 1976. A position of 58 11 25.8N, 006 22 46.3W was fixed by horizontal sextant angles: Goat Isand. 51-59 Inaclete Beacon 59-43 Coastguard flagstaff. The wreck was examined on 1 September 1975. The site was sounded and investigated by divers. The least depth by echosounder was 5 metres in a general depth of 9 metres, reduced to 2.71 metres below Ordnance Datum [Stornoway]. The wreck is partially broken up. The seabed is mud. There is a possibility that the wreck may be removed by the company developing the harbour.

13 October 1976. The wreck was located and dived upon in the above position. Not a great deal of wreckage was found, except a large boiler. The highest portion of the wreck was the boiler at 9.1 metres below the surface. The bottom being at 12.1 metres.

19 September 1983. An unconfirmed note about this vessel, states steel construction with a steel propellor in 7.25 metres [mean low water springs], on a detailed diagram of Arnish sheds.
