This is the position of a suspected non sub contact. Echo attacks were made on the 16 April 1942 at 58 19 00N 060330w and at 58 19 30N, 006 03 30W.
Report by Commanding Officer HMS HURSLEY 22 April 1942.

17 April 1970. The least depth by echsounder was 97 metres in a general depth of 107 metres. No scour pits were observed on the seabed. A distinctive wreck was shown on the echosounder trace.

8 August 1984. The site was examined on 28 August 1983 at 58 19 56N, 006 02 38W using trisponder & side scan sonar. The least depth by echosounder was 101 metres in a general depth of 107 metres. A scour pit was observed 0.5 metres deep. The side scan sonar indicated a height of 7 metres, but the mast stands 14 metres above the seabed. The keel is lying on an orientation of lying 135/315 degrees. Its length is 35 metres (114 feet).
