An unknown puffer sank after dragging its anchor in a storm and holing its stern on striking the shore.

Surveying Details

4 February 1982. The wreck of a puffer, 100 feet (30.4 metres) long, 20 feet (6.1 metres) beam, with its bows pointing to the SE, was reported in the entrance to BaghBeag, at 56 57 00N, 007 29 58W. The vessel was badly holed on its port side abaft the engine room. The least depth of water is 6.1 metres in a general depth of 12.1 at 1100am, 22 August 1981. Report by A. J. Note: The predicted tidal reduction is 3.3 metres clear water. Charted as a wreck with clearence of 2.8 metres.
6 March 1985. The site was dived on in 1984. The wreck is upright on the seabed.

10 August 1994. The wreck was located at 56 57 01N, 007 30 08W [World Geodetic System Datum). The diver's description of site is as before.
