Full Description

NF86SW 8 8350 6266.

Two recumbent stone slabs on the north-westerly of the two summits of Craonaval are called locally Leac a'Mhiosachan and evidently mark the site of a burial of some age.
The two stones are about a yard apart, the larger 11ft 10ins x 4ft 2ins x 11ins and the other 8ft x 5ft 2ins x 10ins. Both are supported by smaller stones and show cavities below their southern edges.
E Beveridge 1911; RCAHMS 1928.

These stone slabs, as described by Beveridge, were located at NF 8350 6266. The northernmost stone has sunk into the peat, and only two matres of its length shows through the heather. Their exact purpose could not be ascertained: they could be natural. No trace of a cairn could be found in association.
Surveyed at 1/10,560.
Visited by OS (W D J) 3 June 1965.
