Full Description

NF86SW 9 8331 6276.

Area : NF 832 628 The remains of a greatly robbed chambered cairn are situated at over 150ft OD, near the summit of Craonaval. The mound is c. 40 x 30ft and 3ft high with four stones of the peristalith surviving, which has had a diameter of about 50ft. The chamber consists of two more or less rectangular compartments with an entrance from the east. The inner compartment appears to have been dug out at some time.
In the centre of the existing cairn, 11ft 6ins behind the chamber, is a square cist the interior of which is empty.
