NF87NE 21 880 760.
The settlement at Clachan Sand, ruins of which can still be seen, is first recorded in the Judicial Rental of 1718 but was probably in existence by 1666. It was depopulated before 1840.

At Clachan Shanda (NF 880 760) there are vague outlines of at least 12 buildings, up to 21.0m x 6.0m, together with numerous outbuildings, enclosures, etc.
The area was depopulated about 1820.
