(NF 8463 7657) Kelig (NAT)
OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1904)
'Kelig', as marked by the OS, is a jutting rock on the beach at the extreme northern point of Oronsay, locally known as Dunan Ruadh. No structural evidence was found except a few loose stones.
The name 'Kelig' is said to apply correctly to a skerry off Machair Robach, nearly a mile NE from Oronsay.
E Beveridge 1911.
There is no evidence of any artificial structure on this island, which can be reached at low water over a sandy spit from the mainland.
Visited by OS (R D) 23 June 1965.
