Full Description

NF87NW 20 8398 7588.

(NF 841 759) The remains of a group of small cairns can be seen on a rocky slope about half a mile to the west of a similar group at the NE end of Oronsay (NF87NW 19), on the opposite side of Oronsay.
There are also two yard-wide circles outlined by fragments of white quartz.
E Beveridge 1911.

There are six small cairns, varying in size from 2.0m in diameter by 0.6m high to 4.0m in diameter by 0.9m high, at NF 8398 7588, close by the shore. There are also the possible grass-covered remains of three others and the remains of a grass-covered field bank.
Several of the cairns have been built on rock outcrop which suggests that they are clearance heaps. No trace of the circles could be found. Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (R D) 24 June 1965.
