(Centred : NF 815 753) Claggan Sollas - Settlement, depopulated by 1880. OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 1st ed., (1880)

There are the remains of fourteen buildings and six small yards in the depopulated area around Claggan Sollas. They vary in size from 6.0m x 4.0m to 14.0m x 5.0m and are either completely rectangular or rectangular with rounded corners. The drystone walls are as thick as 1.2m and survive to a height of 1.2m in places. The outlines of other buildings appear as grass-covered banks, 0.5m high.

A crofting township comprising three roofed, fourteen unroofed buildings, two enclosures and a sheepfold, and a head-dyke are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, North Uist etc 1881, sheet xxx). Twenty-three roofed, nineteen unroofed buildings and several enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
