(NF 8075 7507) Dun (NR)
OS 6"map, Inverbness-shire, 2nd ed., (1904)

The site of Dun Skellor is a conspicuous mound, c. 10ft high, immediately north of the farmhouse of that name.
On its east edge, for a length of three yards, the ext erior face of a massive curved wall (suggesting a broch) is disclosed in at least three courses of large stones not far from the present summit. Outside this, and elsewhere, were found kitchen-midden remains, including pottery, with many bones and shells. On the NW face three consecutive stones remain, apparently in their original position, suggesting a diameter of 50 to 60ft. A wall is said to have existed a few yds east of the fort but Beveridge was unable to find any trace of it (E Beveridge 1911).
The massive curved wall had disappeared by 1914.
E Beveridge 1911; RCAHMS 1928.

No trace of walling or kitchen-midden could be found at Dun Skellor, a grass-covered mound about 23.0m in diameter and 2.0m high.
Resurveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (R D) 20 June 1965.
