A pair of adjoining mounds called Da Shithean are situated at Middlequarter, a little N of the road between Sollas and Malaclett. That to the west consists of sand and the other of dark soil. It is said that burnt stones have been found.
E Beveridge 1911.

Da Shithean is the name applied to two grass-covered mounds c. 6.0m in diameter by 1.7m in height, at NF 8040 7458.
There is no trace of the stones mentioned above, and nothing to suggest that these mounds are antiqutities.
Visited by OS (R D) 18 June 1965.
