Full Description

NF87SW 5 8465 7278.

(NF 8465 7278) The outline of a circular building, about 24ft in diameter over walls c. 3-4ft thick, can be traced on a rocky peninsula (originally an island) on the east side of Geireann Mill Loch.
The remains of a causeway joining it to the shore are visible on what is now a low sandy ridge. Several fragments of pottery and a hammerstone were found.
E Beveridge 1911.

The circular building on the former peninsula, now again an island, is now but a circular heather-covered depression about 5.0m in diameter by 0.3m deep. There is no trace of a stone causeway, or of any walling around the island, which can still be reached by the sandy ridge mentioned by Beveridge.
Visited by OS (R D) 21 June 1965.
