OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1904)

A small hillock said to be the site of an ancient fort, and from the appearance of the gound it seems as if there had abeen some building of the kind similar to other duns or fort...in the Western Hebrides.... (Name Book 1878).
The site of this dun is indicated by an irregular heap of stones about 20 yards in diameter, and rising to a height of about 10ft above the surrounding ground.
RCAHMS 1928; Name Book 1878.

This shapeless, grass-covered stoney mound measures 26.5m E-W by 29.0m transversely, and 2.7m high. The remains of a small building, 5 x 2.5m, lie at its N side and a modern cairn 1.3m high, has been erected near its centre. There are no intelligible traces of a dun, and the feature has been mutilated and robbed for building materials for the nearby village.
Visited by OS (R B) 29 June 1965.
