Full Description

NF88SE 14 c. 85 81.

The late H H Mackenzie, factor of the North Uist estates, formed a large collection of antiquities from the Western Isles between about 1880 and 1934. Among them is listed a silver brooch from Boreray, and 'bone needles and pins, parts of bone combs, bone whorls, bone fasteners, bone wilk picks and borers, bronze needles and pins', found at several places, including Boreray. This collection is now in RMS (NMAS), but it is not now possible to state exactly which articles among those listed came from Boreray.
