Full Description

NF88SE 7 centred 89 80.

According to Wedderspoon (J Wedderspoon 1915), the OS 1st ed. (scale not stated) shows an 'old burial ground' on the W side of Berneray island. At this spot human remains were discovered, as well as a shell-midden and potsherds.
(Neither the OS 1" nor 6" 1st ed. shows a burial ground in this position, but the current (7th Ser.) 1" does show one at NF 897 801 which is not named on the current 6"map (1904). There is no evidence, however, to confirm that this is Wedderspoon's site).
J Wedderspoon 1915.

Not located. The burial ground shown on OS 1"map (7th Ser.) is recent. Visited by OS (N K B) 20 June 1965.
