NF97SE 11 959 736.
A wooden scoop or handled oval bowl (the bowl 7.5ins long) was found in 1974 or '75 in peat cutting 4ft 6ins down under peat on the bedrock', and is retained in private possession. The findspot is approximately NF 959 736. Information contained in letter from Dr J Close-Brooks (NMAS) to OS 7 July 1977.
Scoop of Picea abies or Larix decidua (possibly driftwood) held in the NMS under accession number IP 3. Attributed to the Early Historic period but may be of post-medieval date. It is unclear whether or not it was buried in the bog.
