Full Description

NG08SW 2 0307 8372.

Dun Boraigeo is situated on Boraiges Point, Strond, a rough rocky point rising 20ft above HWM and surrounded by water for most part of the day. On the landward side are the remains of a stone wall of considerable strength. The rock is so rough and irregular in shape, and of such limited area, that it could only have provided a temporary refuge for a very small number of people.
RCAHMS 1928, visited 1914.

All that survives of Dun Boraigeo is the fragmentary remains of a wall, c.2.5m thick and c.6.0m long, forming an irregular curve across the landward side of a rocky islet at NG 0307 8372. The islet has been eroded by the sea, and there is now no indications of the wall having encircled it. Name still known locally.
Surveyed at 1:2500.
Visited by OS (N K B) 4 July 1969.
