A roofed building and what may be an unroofed shieling-hut are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Island of Harris 1882, sheet xiii). An unroofed building is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).

The remains of this building are still visible on the ground, to the north of the new road. They lie within a sheltered valley which contains a number of other structures, including the remains of probable earlier shielings
