Steam Trawler THOMAS ALTOFT, of Fleetwood, H132. Master not known. Bound from Fleetwood to fishing grounds. Lost 8 Nov 1947, 10.55pm. Griadach Rock (Sgeir Griadach), about 2 miles to west of Eilean Glas lighthouse, Scalpay, Harris. South west wind, gale at times. Sea rough. Very good visibility. Cause of wreck not known. 15 crew all saved. Owners are Marr & Son Ltd, Dock St, Fleetwood.
