Steam trawler WYRE CORSAIR, FD287, of Fleetwood, master J. Kelly. Bound from Flannan Isles fishing grounds to East Loch Roag for shelter. Lost 7 Jan 1949, 9pm. Callanish Point, Lewis, 12 miles from Flannan Isles Lighthouse. Wind northerly force 9, squalls, moderate sea. Cause of wreck "Dragging anchor & failure of engines." Crew 13, all saved.
