Mill
This site is the lowest mill in an extended mill complex (most of which lies out with the 1995 survey area). This site measures 4.0 x 4.0 metres, is sub circular and has associated water diversion banking and sluice.

The remains of a subcircular mill (mill 1) were encountered at BN 05547 32908 at the southen end of a valley opening out onto a boggy flood plain on the north shore of Lon Erista estuary. This feature measusred 5.2m in diameter, with an internal wheelhouse 1.8m across. The walls of drystone gneiss boulder construction, stood to 0.8m high and opened from the north (from a lade) and the south (into a stream). Leading northwards from the mill on a serpentine route flanked on both sides by streams was an emanked lade (late 1) up to 2.5m broad, up to 1m high and running for 29.2m to terminate at NB 05555 32934. Along the centre line of the embankment ran a channel, an average of 0.4m wide.
