A township comprising fifteen roofed, one partially roofed, five unroofed buildings, six enclosures and some field walls is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Island of Harris 1882, sheet xiv). Eight roofed, one partially roofed, twelve unroofed buildings, seven enclosures and some field walls are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).

Settlement is depicted on Balds map (1805), located at the head of the bay and on either side of the Carragreich River, with head dyke and probable inner dyke land division.
