What may be an unroofed shieling-hut is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, North Uist & Harris 1882, sheet xxxi) and on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 17 April 1997

Eight sheiling mounds are located around the head of a small shallow bay. There are diffences in construction which may indicate different phases of occupation. These range from a large sub-oval mound (approx 7mx9m) with two sub-rectangular stone & turf sheiling ruins with opposing entrances, to circular and sub-circular structures of varying sizes. A single (large) sub-rectangular structure (6m x 7m) located on an islet has been partly eroded and the structure is currently visible in section.
