An unroofed building is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, North & South Uist etc. 1880, sheet xlv) and on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 7 May 1997

an isolated building at NGR NF 8388 5728, close to the causeway joining Benbecula with Grimsay. This was a ruined blackhouse constructed of drystyone gn3eiss boulders up to 0.5m across, with walls surviving to 0.8m in height, 0.6m width and partially grassed over. Rectangular, unicellular and aligned north to south, it measured 12.3m x 5m, with an entrance in the northeast corner and a later cheelfold constructed agains the east wall. Grassed-over boulders to the west may have represented the remains of an outbuilding.
