Full Description

A farmstead comprising two unroofed buildings is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, North & South Uist etc. 1880, sheet xliv), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 6 May 1997

… a deserted post-medieval settlement… featured the footprint of a blackhouse measuring 16.5m x 6.6m, aligned north to south, at NGR NF 7922 5511. The walls, of grassed-over gneiss boulders and up to 0.6m thick, survived to a maximum height of 0.3m. There were traces of a small outbuilding or extension immediately to the south, represented by two upright boulder slabs, and a rather better defined small enclosure or outhouse 4m to the northeast of the main building. This meausred 4m x 4m, was of the same construction as the blackhouse, and had as its west wall a dyke which continued to the north.
