…a deserted post-medieval settlement to the southe east of the well (Tobar Chaluim Chille) included two square building platforms at NGR NF 7837 5451, each measuring 5m by 5m with entrances on the east side. The first of these structures lay 5.35m northwest of the second, both being constructed of gneiss boulders forming grassed-over walls surviving to 0.5m in height.
Further to the south of the buildings, at dyke at NGR NF7844 5434 ran for 40m … on a north to south alignment… intersecting with a second dyke … on an east to west alignement… Both dykes followed straight lines and were composed of partially grassed-oever gneiss rubble averaging 0.4m in dameter and forming a structure surviving to 0.3m in height from the ground surface.
To the east of the dykes at NGR NF 7849 5432, stood a pair of roofless standing buildings. Both of theses tructures were rectangular in plan, and aligned north top south, with the smaller to the west, l arger to the east, linked by a double wall. The smaller building measured 6.5m x 4m, and was currently in use as a sheep shelter. 11m to th eeast, the larger building measured 13m x 4.05m, subdivivded into a southern room 7m long and two northern rooms or compartments each 2m x 4m. The southern room had doorways in both long walls, a window on the east side and a fireplace in the southern wall. The walls of both buildings survived to a maximum height of 1.5m.
