This site is located on grassy high piont above an protective inlet. It comprises of the ruins of a house and byre The house is two bay with central entrance (east facing elevation), single storey, with two bays to rear elevation (one has been sealed at some piont). The foundations of the building incorparate large natural boulders, the walls are of lime and ash mortar random rubble construction with undressed quions; the southern wall has collapsed. Slate is apparent in the wall construction and the wall fill. All slate has a crennalleted appearance and is notible for pyrite crystal inclusions; this seems to indicate that it originated in either Ballachulish or Easdale. Internally the northern 'end' wall has a central fire place. The walls also show evidence of lime render or bonding around the entrance and window openings. The whole of the interior is covered with fallen stone work and also contains the remains of cast iron rooflight surrounds. Later modification is indicated by reduction in window opening size and external mortar jointing. Dimensions of this building are approximatley 11m x 7 and currently stands at a height of between 2.10m & 2.80m.
The rectagular byre is of drystone construction with rounded corners, single entrance to east elevation with low stock opening in west elevation. Slate also apparent in wall construction and later mortar jionting is visible on part of the external wall. Dimensions 6m x 4m x 1.8m.
Other ruined features are visible at ground level, seen as stone settings around both of these buildings. The wider area comprises of peat cuttings, lazybeds and turf constructed enclosures.
This appears as an almost intact farmstead of the pre 1800 period and would benefit from being surveyed in detail.
