"A point on the E coast of Castlebay where a number of huts have been erected for the herring fishing which is prosecuted here from the latter half of May till July every year."

Twenty-five roofed and two unroofed buildings are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, Barra etc. 1880, sheet lxiv), but they are not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971). The N end of this site is now located within the modern crofting township of Ledaig.
