'At a short distance behind and nearly parellel to the above line of huts (huts belonging to the second phase crofting township, NB54NW 29.02), are a number of low black looking one placed in promiscous groups, and are apparently much older and inferior looking the former (NB54NW 29.02).'

A linear crofting township, comprising nineteen roofed buildings, five partially roofed buildings annotated as 'ruin', three unroofed buildings and sixteen enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 10). (see also NB54NW 29.06 and .07)
The field-system of the present crofting township overlies the site and no trace of the township is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1974).
