Three enclosures or fields and three lengths of wall are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 10). Three enclosures and one length of wall are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1974).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 27 February 1997.

This area is a good example of visible changes in (at least post medieval) agricultural practice. The square enclosure is one of the last events in the land management in this area, the western most D shaped enclosure shows two events in the more formalized linear rigging process, the final phase truncating the earlier one and the enclosure boundary. The easterly D shaped enclosure shows a less formalized rig; however it is clear that all these enclosures are super imposed over the earlier thicker and more curvi-linear agricultural ridges that surround these features.
Visible in AP's.
