Full Description

NB45NW 59 centred on 431 588

A township called Ath Cheapach and annotated 'in ruins', comprising twelve unroofed buildings and a field-system is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 2). It is overlain by the field-system of the crofting township of South Galson and is therefore not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1974).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 7 April 1997.

A series of grassed over ruins are visible on current AP's running diagonally and paralell to the north western side of a drain.
