A township comprising five unroofed buildings, four of which are annotated as Ruins, six enclosures and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire, Island of Lewis 1854, sheet 23). One unroofed, three roofed buildings and four enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1974).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 28 August 1997
From NB 04745 32569 westwards, a complex series of stone alignments spread across the hillside of Sgal Mor to the north of the main road. These were the vestigial remains of enclosures and, possibly, building footings. Two drystone dykes running on contrary alignments, one from southeast to north west, the other southwest to north east are visible as single courses of field boulders protrucing from the grass, with a third dyke further uptill on a souteast to northwes alignment.
